Always think of your customer
Choosing style over comfort and function can be a costly pitfall and lose you clients if you don’t get the balance right. Of course, you want to maintain your business and salon image, but your customers will be spending most of their time in your chairs. If they’re uncomfortable, they may not revisit.
Try before you buy
There is no better quality control test with furniture than trying it out for yourself. Preferably for more than thirty seconds.
Do your homework on suppliers and manufacturers in your area. Look at online reviews. Get as much information as possible about your potential salon furniture manufacturer before you buy anything. Only make educated decisions about your purchases.
When it comes to salon furniture and equipment, don’t be too stingy. Spend money in the areas that count, furniture should not be so affordable that it only lasts you four months.
Don’t weigh your final decision on price
Price is just one of many factors that should be influencing your decision when it comes to making a substantial purchase, like outfitting a salon and buying furniture. Consider warranties, insurance policies, and guarantees. All of these may increase your initial cost but save your business money in the long run.
To finance or not
Financing is a great way of affording items that may not be within your immediate budget. But think carefully about tying yourself into finance loans—ensure your business can afford the outgoing payment. On the other hand, investing in quality is beneficial in the long-term; you’ll replace items less frequently and your clients will be more comfortable.
